i'm glad that captjt brought this up. i probably would not have gone to see
this exhibit again. John Moyer has been able to display it in a few places.
he was at the show in Pa. last year & the sight of the history combined with
the beauty of the artifacts rescued & displayed for all to see, was amazing.
there has been a group of people that have & are still lobbying against the
rights of divers to recover artifacts from the sea. i would suggest that they
all make the trip to look at & discover what some lowly scavengers can do,
but those people have already made up there minds as to our position in the
recovery scheme of things.
instead i'd like to invite all of you that live close enough to make the trip
& bring your kids & wives let them see what is possible. let them see the
small pieces of junk jewelry that looks absolutely spectacular when set in
the suroundings of photos & videos of the life of the Andrea Doria. these are
things that no one would ever get to see had a few crazy stroke bastards
pushed the limits & used every bit of skill & luck to recover the items
displayed.
one of the most interesting thing to do is to watch the number of people
walking through the booth. this display belongs on a road show throughout the
country &
in museums. will the powers that be wake up to the realities of life &
understand that in order for the average person to enjoy this legacy it
didn't have to be recovered by an "arkie".
take the time if you can to stop by & see this show & support John in his
efforts,

capt hank garvin
