I'm reticent to respond to this thread because it involves an area that is best
taken privately with Andrew, but since the comments have already been made
publicly I'd like to offer an alternate viewpoint to some of the comments made.

<< You have a very offensive attitude, and a "holier than thou" personna
which
I find to be rather repulsive. >>

During the few short conversations I have had with Andrew (including the
Britannic showing) I have not observed sanctimony of any kind.

<< The individual I spoke to has a receding hairline, is of medium
build, and
about 5'11" .... [when] I asked about GUE training, and was steered away from
it >>

There is such a gentlemen there, but when I talked about GUE training to him I
was not steered away from it. I was merely told that this would require an
interview by Andrew in order to determine eligibility. I got the sense that
technical training was taken very seriously by the staff, which naturally
follows that one might be steered away from it if appropriate.

<< Whoever he is, he brought up some valid points, >>

I agree that salient points were indeed brought up, and I was looking forward to
seeing how Andrew responded to them. That GUE does not currently have an
entry-level course which requires Andrew to use SSI satisfies my own questions
though. It's a fair response.

<< ... "poodle jackets" and gear of the type I am trying to get away
from. I
am not the type of person to tell anyone how to run their business ... >>

It would be highly presumptuous of anyone to tell any business owner how they
should run their operation. That said, I will not do it. There is a
local shop to the north however that provides a good example of teaching
entry-level recreational courses while still only selling backplates and
harnesses. Yes, I know it is not DIR gear, but the underlying precedent of not
having to sell recreational gear and still make a good profit exists.

<< As for your store, I can tell you its a little closet on the top of a
car
stereo store, with almost no where to park. >>

This is irrelevant to the discussion. Size, shape, or location have little to
do with training. To tell you the truth, I'd rather see Andrew's shop stay
small, thereby allowing him (because of lower costs) to remain discreet on who
he trains, than large square-footage with ample parking resulting in him having
to make compromises later on to stay profitable.

In sum, I have done quite a bit of business with Andrew's shop and had pleasant
experiences each time. They are a good staff!
