>>Bruce R'. Miller" <<brm@yo*.co*> >>All he did was ask a question... I don't think so... He went on to talk about his other grand experiences. As if they make him more competent in the water... I've killed a few people and blown lots of shit up. Who gives a rat's ass. That has nothing to do with the quality of(or lack there-of) my diving. I know a lot. I also have a lot to learn and have no problem with having my ass handed to me.... By somebody who knows WTF they are doing... For instance, I am a great openwater/recreational diver. I am a really good recreational instructor. I am a safety-minded cave/technical diver. I have no business instructing people in the cave environment. These are the limitations of my ability. I know this, and benefit (get to live another day) as a result of this knowledge. My students also benefit because of this knowledge and also from the fact that I'm not afraid to refer a student when the training they seek is beyond the level of my ability. I'll be the first to tell a student (or anybody for that matter) what it's like now to look back and see what a bad-ass I thought I was... knowing now the reality of what a dangerous dumb-ass I really was... I was the poster child for SDW (Stroke-Divers of the Worled). I showed up for the first day of my cave training with a brand new Zeagle Ranger BC (the ultimate in tech... : ) ) Thank God my instructor wasn't so afraid of losing a dollar that he wouldn't teach my right from wrong. I am lucky to be alive... Most of us (with more than 70 dives) can probably say something like this... Heed the info here, and maybe you'll be able to say that in a few years... Otherwise, the wife/mother's name and phone number on your tanks is a great idea... Maybe consider diving with a set of dog tags and some type of photo I.D... In other words: Hey Ben, cave diving (or diving in general) is no place to compensate for a small penis... Stick to elite kayack-chute-glid-a-sailing or whatever... I ask this as a personal favor. My insurance is high enough and I don't want to have to teach in a third-world country. Thanks, BoB.
