Dear Cam, List, etc,
I use a lift bag and a 12m tape.
It has a heavy caribena on the end.
I drop the tape below me in deep water, then let the bag go and the tape
runs through may fist.
A one handed operation.
But I cannot let it go till the 12m stop.
Hence I hovered for the other deeper stops.
I am not doing major deco with many deep stops.
Also carried as an emergency, if I miss the anchor line.
The question is, what is this spool arrangement??
I stopped using a reel and bag because of all the previously discussed
problems.
The tape and bag works well for me.
But 12 (or 15) metres of tape is the max to avoid tangles.
I hear descriptions of "firing the bag".
Possibly, I could be enlightened.
regards,
Jeff of Darwin.
