Maybe I'm totally wrong, but to me, Gator wraps are one the same 
level like ankle weights and very heavy fins.
I preferred to learn dry suit diving properly.
Sure you can use them, but why don't you try it without? If your suit 
is cut right, you don't have to deal with too much drag.

Often seen the same with "water"filled booties that you'd wear with 
your wet suit. Yuck.

Man, American coffee sucks. Makes it easier not to have any, prior to 
a dive.
