Don't know where you are located, but around here if you walk into a scuba
store and ask for some silicone they'll usually act about the same as if
you walk into  a drugstore without a prescription and ask for a pint of
codeine.

Also. if you have a lot of regulators like most people here it's always
cheaper if you can find a bulk source rather than buy it repackaged in tiny
little tubes with a SCUBA company's name on them - when the shop would sell
them at all, I've been hit up for more for one of those tiny 7gr tubes of
Scubapro Spec kit grease than I pay now for a big 7 oz tube of Dow 111.

I don't think this is the same stuff as the diaphram regs use though.
