Dear List, Merry Christmas to all. I think it is safe to say that this list has been beneficial to all. If not, you are not paying attention. At this time, I don't know where recreational diving and tech diving is separated. I am not totally DIR yet. But my recreational diving is now done in almost a tech manner. What I am saying is that I now only use a harness, practice redundancy, route hoses, have my harness uncluttered...................for all dives. It is almost embarassing to step on the dive boat to do a couple of routine wreck dives. ie 20 to 30m nitrox dives. People look at the equipment and say "ooo tech diver". So tell me where recreational diving and tech diving differs. For me the choice is twin tanks or single tank (with a pony) For a while I thought my diving was getting too complicated. But really, it has simplified. I take what I need. My equipment is more streamlined. Standardized. I owe alot of this to this list. With my tech training and cave training as a basis. Merry Christmas all. Will look forward to more discussion next year. Jeff Swann of Darwin OZ.
