Bullshit , Mike. I can drive home shitfaced drunk, and used to do so
when I drank, and then hit a guy head on because he had his lights off.
This would have been no big deal if I had been straight - I would have
reacted. I did see him, just could not add it up fast enough. Luckily,
he had a seatbelt on and I was so young that going through a windshield
was no big deal for me.

Diving is the same- eveything is fine and you can do known tasks by rote
when impaired severely, only you can't deal with anything new
effectively, and you can't do anything as well as clear, you lose all of
your spacial senses, you lose your short term memory, all of your
perceptions are distorted, your upper level frontal lobe brain
functions ( starting with judgement, etc.) are immediatley compromised,
and you progress from that point in about the same sequence as what you
would see if you administerd a good dose of Versed on the operating
table. Give that a try and dive - it is absolutely NO different.

Again , Mike, diving medicine is bullshit as well. Thsoe guys learn from
us, we don't learn from them.
