No, in my opinion, other than in a situation where you have done inadeqaute deco for the bottom time nad need to conserve oxygen, so go to ten feet in liu of a short 20 and a get out. Gavin and I did that a couple of times on syphon dives that got out of hand where we had no support. In a wreck dive this is a possible scenario for a lot of reasons that are not even bad planning, but real life. With Bill and I it was just two nuts with nobody to stop us. I would do the twenty and then ascend at 1 fpm to the area of about 7 feet instead, and then sit on the surface for a bit. Sean M. Cary wrote: > > Should you even use the 10' stop?
