with regard to the recent deep air posts[bigvon, etc]
my preference is for hyperbaric chamber dives.
at  6ata ( equivalent to 50m/165fsw) you get a good taste of narcosis with no 
hazard. have someone video the proceedings.
doing columns of arithmetic, i make no errors, but go much slower.
doing work boards ( assemblages of nuts, bolts, beads & line, knots, locks, 
etc) takes much longer.
at 140fsw my cognitive & fine motor skills degrade.
limiting  END to 100fsw in hazardous environments is a good idea.
