Not to be TOO insensitive about this, but welcome to the club. I wonder how
many on here have had worse happen to them and NOT had a Tourette's Syndrome
attack? I have things in my past, distant and not too distant, that are
tragic. Losses in my family recently and over the last few years, the loss
of my Mother when I was 2, but somehow I've managed to get over it without
exorcising my rage in public. It's disgusting to me that something that
happened so far in their past should be used as an excuse for immature
behavior now. I'm sorry for what happened to them, but it's time to grow up
and get over it, most others have.

This broad-brush approach is BS too. I consider myself, in a sense, an
"Irvinite." I believe in what he's tried to accomplish towards safety and
diving sense. I practice much of what he preaches. I've met he and much of
his team and I consider them to be good folks for the most part. I suggest
that you remark on what you know and separate the online immaturity and
insult from the advice and dive reports. It doesn't do you any good to have
a continual case of the ass for the WKPP'ers because of some bad behavior
online. It keeps you from being engaged and contributing intelligently and
it's ultimately distracting. When George says SMD, just ask where and when
and move on. You might find areas of common ground and you may even find a
comment or two funny yourself. A sense of humor is paramount to happy (but
not necessarily contented) survival on Techdiver. The alternative is
elevated blood pressure and a sour disposition. Besides, it's Christmas,
Ebeneezer, be of good cheer! <seg>

Merry Xmas,

JoeL

PS--John-I didn't find Peter's note on the Techdiver list, so I assume it
was a private note you posted publicly.
