So, the only part of me that is non-DIR (besides solo-diving...) is the damn bolt snaps. I cannot operate itty-bitty brass bolt snaps with 5mm gloves on and loose pre-bent d-rings. I have tried putting a bit of surgical tubing around the d-ring under the webbing to help it stay in one place, and we will see how that works. I cannot find any large stainless bolt-snaps. The ones EE sells are still quite small. Larger stainless bolt-snaps is the official DIR answer to my problem above, but the snaps aren't any longer than a couple inches in length above the eye, which is too small on my brass ones. I will order some and try it, but I have my doubts. The stainless double-end dog clips are a decent length, about 4" or so, but for most applications I want to use the swivel eye bolt clip which only opens on one end. Any suggestions or things I've missed? Note that I've said I'm at least going to TRY it the DIR way, but I dont' expect to have much luck. Thanks.
