Apologies if this is a duplicate - techdiver has been quiet at this end for a while and I didn't see my earlier attempt at this posting redistributed. In my last mail on this I said that the reg being used by the person who died was some sort of US Divers. There was also talk of a 'faulty spring' in the reg. I've since heard that the configuration actually being used was a bottom of the line Scubapro second stage (I don't recall the model number, but it is one usually used as an octopus, and it had the spring setup for an octopus reg - harder to breathe off, less chance of free flow) on a Sherwood first stage (again, I don't know the model). Such an unmatched reg setup with an inappropriately tuned second stage may have contributed to the accident. Greg Ryan gregr@cs*.su*.oz*.au*
