We started back diving at Wakulla and in Leon Sinks Cave System this weekend. Conditions are not yet quite right, but we expect them to improve into the Winter. We were able to rotate out a bunch of safeties at Wakulla, and put a huge supply in . We were also able to run most of our teams and to check out all of our equipment. We basicly ran as if we were going to to a long dive, and everyone participated. Two weeks ago we pulled the safties out of Leon and installed the toughs at Wakulla. Everyone finished up all of the other things they were involved in , most races of various kinds, and we are all back. Sunday we did dives in Leon Sinks, which is very close to explorable again. We will be diving a little next weekend and then a bigger effort the following two weekends and on into next month and January. Our more recently trained divers did well, so we expect to have a huge team for when conditions get perfect, next year. We also have some new gear that combined with the more highly trained team should allow us to explore the really difficult far reaches that lie between Leon and Wakulla. We have seen this area underground, and the need to explore this more extensively drove our efforts to come up with methods to do so, improving all of our systems. Basicly we are going faster further with more light , more scooter, and more gas. Everyone is in better shape, and we have the deco figured out for these dives. We have more guys who can do it than ever before, all at the same time. Should get some good results this winter and next year. We are also now filming everything we do, so this will really start to produce a lot more visual information than what we did before. Jarrod and I had a good dive - mostly just fun . Rose resurrected the mapper. By the way, he came in second in the 200 meter butterfly in a Masters meet last weekend. It was neat to see so many in-shape people at once and diving. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
