Its the USMC birthday, and this was meant for all Marines, past and =
present, who might see it. The Marines are a fairly international group =
as well! And, some of us dive.....its where I learned to dive 21 years =
ago.
Its not so much glorification as it is confronting your job and mission =
with a positive attitude, under all circumstances. "Marines never =
retreat, they advance to the rear" is a shining example of the mindset. =
Failure is not an option. Its not a word in your vocabulary. Call it =
what you want, it is preparatory to a shitty mission.
No one is calling you names, Pete. Its just a very small and exclusive =
group, as military entities go.
Its really not necessary for others to understand or approve of our =
methods. We get results.
And as our Secretary of State once said, after getting gigged by the UN =
weenies for bombing Libya,=20
"They are all certainly entitled to their opinion."
As long as there are assholes like Saddam and Milosevic around, we =
*need* our Marines. After all,
what would America's foreign policy be without Marines to back it up? =
And who else is going to stand=20
watch at the gates of the worlds US embassies?
Having been and done, I can tell you *for sure* that braggadocio like =
that which got your attention is a necessary
part of the Marine Corps indoctrination.=20
