Have any of the medics out there got any definate sources of information, eg papers, conferences, etc etc on the effects of asprin etc etc on DIVERS and the possible implications of treatment problems if a HIT occures... I ask only as this area is not fully understood over here in the UK however many people including myself do take asprin if the dive is deep and long, as well as the other safty factors as expressed dive nitrox for travel mix, , use good dive planners, and be conservative in profiles?. The dosage we use is between 1/2 tablet and 1 tablet about 1 hour before the dive, this does not seem sufficent to myself, however I am not a medic. Could those in the know please comment about the dosage and time taken before the dive. I fail to see how 1/2->1tablet can reduce platelet cohesiveness if it is not a regular occurance, and of course 2 tablets and beyond will mask the effects of DCS. Is it a case of ever little helps, or will 1/2->1 tablet do the job.
