My cave instructor showed me how to have my SPG on a 22" hose and clip it=
 to my
left chest D-ring. This way the SPG is out of the way and won't drag in =
the silt
or grab the line. The hose is still long enough (coming off my left post =

course) to barely reach my left hip ring, but I find it easiest to =
simply leave
it on the chest ring so I only have to glance down to check. Although I'm=
 not
scootering yet, it is best to get into good habits should I decide to =
progress
in that direction. I will soon get an even shorter HP hose so that it =
only clips
to my chest ring. If I don't need any more length, then why take it? I =
wouldn't
advise it going across the chest as I think it adds to the clutter. Even =
though
your long hose always goes on last when gearing up, there is always a =
chance
that you may unclip it for some reason on the dive and then accidently =
clip it
back over the hose that your buddy uses.
