This way the SPG is out of the way and won't drag in = the silt or grab the line. The hose is still long enough (coming off my left post = of course) to barely reach my left hip ring, but I find it easiest to = simply leave it on the chest ring so I only have to glance down to check. Although I'm= not scootering yet, it is best to get into good habits should I decide to = progress in that direction. I will soon get an even shorter HP hose so that it = only clips to my chest ring. If I don't need any more length, then why take it? I = wouldn't advise it going across the chest as I think it adds to the clutter. Even = though your long hose always goes on last when gearing up, there is always a = chance that you may unclip it for some reason on the dive and then accidently = clip it back over the hose that your buddy uses.
