Hi folks, I'm looking at rigging a single tank on a Halcyon or Dive-Rite backplate with a single tank adapter. However, I've heard from a few sources that this setup causes the tank to sit too far from the diver's back. Does anyone have any opinions/experience on this? I find using the same setup for singles or doubles appealing, but would I be better off just rigging a DIR harness on an old-school plastic single backpack?
