Kevin Flynn so carfefully wrote many things, which include: >YOU ARE A JUVENILE, MORON AND A BIG MOUTH. >ALL YOU KNOW IS CONFRONTATION, AND ARGUMENTS. I second that. Frankly, if I wanted to read juvenile insults I'd go read the usenet newsgroups. Irvine quickly got added to my killfile, and it amazes me why anyone listens to his drivel. The fact that a man can do well in one small specialized area of his life does not make up for the fact that he's a complete ass who makes a fool of himself everytime he opens his mouth or writes an insult-ridden, obscenty-laden missive that nobody really cares about. The hubris and arrogance that he puts forth IE: That -he- and he alone are diving safely while the rest of us play games, is a laugh. I've been a participant in 'technical' diving for 25 or more years, worked on a NE dive boat specializing in deep wreck diving for 15 years, ran a dive shop catering to wreck and cave divers for 10 years, worked offshore as a sat diver and did 45 day long 1000+ open ocean diving work, (etc., etc... ad nauseum), and I consider myself to be a -student- in the grand scheme of things. So while -good- divers keep their ears and eyes open for new and better ways to do things, there are a few people that think they know it all and refuse any contemplation of the fact that there may be a better way. So, George, from all of us who are sick of yer crap: Bugger off. From the rest of the group, I ask a shunning of the attention-seeking whacko. Perhaps if we ignore him he'll go rant someplace else. It's a shame when what should be a polite arena for dissemination of technique and sharing of camaraderie and fun (remember that word, George, -FUN- ??) turns into a stomach churning mission arriving in email every day. There are -lots- of skilled guys (and gals) and -lots- of appropriate techniques that we use in this sport. The -one- technique that we -all- can apply here is a good dose of civility.
