However, I have had a problem like yours with Latex neck seals. They'd last about 8 months or so before going tacky and weakening. I tried drying them, dusting them with unscented talc, french chalk and storing them in the dark, but to no avail. So I tried a neoprene seal and this lasted a lot longer. It only really leaks if I have to look right around, or if I'm the 'body' and someone has a good neck extension when practising In-water AV. I never really noticed this with the wrist seals though. But as they were on a quick change type (on my old suit) I used to change them once a year anyway. r Paul I didn't want to mention this before, not wanting to taint my question. I know that my skin acidity is a bit different from most. Certain mixes of neoprene, latex, and silicone tend to break down and become mushy/sticky after repeated contact with my skin... (despite frequent washing to remove any oils) particularly when they're in contact with my face. I'm of Icelandic/Danish descent and my skin is very dry, but I think the oils in my face are attacking the silicone. Does this sound familiar to anybody on the list? Thanks, Scott Gudmundsen Vernal, Utah ------=_NextPart_000_0000_01BF0E4D.EF3BAF40 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META HTTP-EQUIV=3D"Content-Type" CONTENT=3D"text/html; = charset=3Diso-8859-1"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 5.00.2614.3401" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <BLOCKQUOTE=20 style=3D"BORDER-LEFT: #0000ff 2px solid; MARGIN-LEFT: 5px; MARGIN-RIGHT: = 0px; PADDING-LEFT: 5px"> <DIV><FONT color=3D#0000ff face=3DArial size=3D2><SPAN = class=3D260063608-04101999>I've=20 noticed a nick in my mask skirt, but because it was 4-5 year's old = (maybe=20 older) I did not worry.</SPAN></FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#0000ff face=3DArial size=3D2><SPAN=20 class=3D260063608-04101999>However, I have had a problem like yours = with Latex=20 neck seals.</SPAN></FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#0000ff face=3DArial size=3D2><SPAN=20 class=3D260063608-04101999>They'd last about 8 months or so before = going tacky=20 and weakening. </SPAN></FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#0000ff face=3DArial size=3D2><SPAN = class=3D260063608-04101999>I=20 tried drying them, dusting them with unscented talc, french chalk and = storing=20 them in the dark, but to </SPAN></FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#0000ff face=3DArial size=3D2><SPAN = class=3D260063608-04101999>no=20 avail.</SPAN></FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#0000ff face=3DArial size=3D2><SPAN = class=3D260063608-04101999>So I=20 tried a neoprene seal and this</SPAN></FONT><FONT color=3D#0000ff = face=3DArial=20 size=3D2><SPAN class=3D260063608-04101999> lasted a lot=20 longer.</SPAN></FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#0000ff face=3DArial size=3D2><SPAN=20 class=3D260063608-04101999></SPAN></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#0000ff face=3DArial size=3D2><SPAN = class=3D260063608-04101999>It=20 only really leaks if I have to look right around, or if I'm the 'body' = and=20 someone has a good neck extension when</SPAN></FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#0000ff face=3DArial size=3D2><SPAN=20 class=3D260063608-04101999>practising In-water AV.</SPAN></FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#0000ff face=3DArial size=3D2><SPAN=20 class=3D260063608-04101999></SPAN></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=3D#0000ff face=3DArial size=3D2><SPAN = class=3D260063608-04101999>I=20 never really noticed this with the wrist seals though.
