I've noticed a nick in my mask skirt, but because it was 4-5 year's old
(maybe older) I did not worry.
However, I have had a problem like yours with Latex neck seals.
They'd last about 8 months or so before going tacky and weakening.
I tried drying them, dusting them with unscented talc, french chalk and
storing them in the dark, but to
no avail.
So I tried a neoprene seal and this lasted a lot longer.

It only really leaks if I have to look right around, or if I'm the 'body'
and someone has a good neck extension when
practising In-water AV.

I never really noticed this with the wrist seals though. But as they were on
a quick change type (on my old suit) I used to
change them once a year anyway.

Paul

I didn't want to mention this before, not wanting to taint my question. I
know that my skin acidity is a bit different from most. Certain mixes of
neoprene, latex, and silicone tend to break down and become mushy/sticky
after repeated contact with my skin... (despite frequent washing to remove
any oils) particularly when they're in contact with my face. I'm of
Icelandic/Danish descent and my skin is very dry, but I think the oils in my
face are attacking the silicone.

Does this sound familiar to anybody on the list?

Thanks,

Scott Gudmundsen
Vernal, Utah
