Hello all, I have a question for the DIR folks. I just finished watching the DIR II video. Some pretty interesting stuff there. I was intrigued by the information about body position during decompression - that being vertical reduces the ability of the lungs to filter nitrogen out. Makes sense. So what position do you guys assume (so to speak) during your ascent? A slow ascent is basically part of the decompression, so do you stay horizontal during your ascent? I was taught (though that doesn't necessarily make it right) that you should keep yourself neutral and fin your way up, which you can't do if you're horizontal. Is the ascent a negligible enough portion of the decompression that vertical is OK, or do you actually make yourself slightly bouyant and stay horizontal for the ascent? Or do you always have an ascent line, stay horizontal, and pull yourself up the ascent line? Just curious. Thanks, Dave -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
