John, I don't think you got the point of my first message. The fact is,
DIR works everywhere. I met a Scottish DIR diver in my intro class in
Florida, and he and I discussed conditions at length. It seems the UK has
very similar conditions (slight better, but similar) to Puget sound. And
it seems that DIR works great everywhere. Shoot, even some of the strokes
I know are doing both bottles on the left side because it's obviously a
hell of a lot more streamlined.

When I go to Florida, I just leave the gloves at home. That's it. I'm not
a cave diver by default. Yes, I have been trained to dive some of the
caves in Florida, but 99% of my dives are in the cold, murky waters around
here.

-Please try to tell us exactly what you find wrong with the DIR system for
the conditions you are diving in, and why.

Incidentally, both the Scottish guy and I show up in florida, never having
been in a cave before, never having met ANYONE with the WKPP before (or
even talked to them, for that matter) with the exact same gear, and we both
went home, and still dive the exact same gear, just better divers. It
works. period.
