Your optician will, of course, give you the most conservative possible
answer to avoid any hint of liability exposure, but that answer may
not be a realistic one.

I wear soft contact lenses while diving.  I do a *lot* of diving,
mostly deep ocean and cave, and I've been doing it for a *long*
time.  I've never had any kind of problem with bacteria or anything
else for that matter.

Yes.  Just close your eyes down to small slits.  The contacts
will stay put and you'll be able to see as well as anyone can
underwater without a mask.
