The gear configurations that are shown on the Luistania web site are
ridiculous. I used to gear up this way and changed over once I tried the
DIR system.

I am sick and tired of idiots like you guys sitting in your ancient
configs, poo pooing any kind of innovation other than what you think is
the only way. So tell me, Greg, have you tried a DIR configuration? Have
you given the slightest effort in checking it out? Hell, no, and
butt-heads like you never will.

Lets look at some of the finer points. Suicide clips. Greg, please come
up with one good reason to use these death traps other than abject
stupidity. Even the dumbest stroke over on this side of the pond knows
these things are no good, yet you guys are festooned with them from head
to toe. Not only suicide clips but I can see about a dozen different
styles of carabiners all over the damn place. Ever heard of
standardization? Hell, no.

Stage bottles. Can't you guys see that you are dragging your stages
through the water sideways? If you get in a bind (oh, I don't know, maybe
a bit of rope caught in your stupid suicide clips) how are you going to
cut away the stage when you are using metal-to-metal connections? Can't
you people see how stupid that is?

The pony between the tanks. Fellows, How can you wreck dive with that
tank out there? How do you get at it? How do you keep it from hitting
stuff and catching every single fishing line and net line in creation? I
know one way, just do a bounce dive, reach down and touch the wreck then
head back up the anchor line as fast as your bungee stuporwings can drag
your ass up to the surface. This might explain why you guys are getting
bent on almost every dive.

Hoses. There is one picture I counted on a set of doubles, 2 HP and 5 LP
hoses. What on earth do you need all these hoses for? What is the one
piece of equipment most likely to break on your kit? Yes! The hoses! And,
class, when you add more failure points, what do you get? Yes! More
failures!!

And on and on... Do you see where I am coming from, Greg, this is
fundamental OBVIOUS stuff, why can't you guys pull your heads out of your
collective asses and see this?

My favorite picture is the one of Chris Hutchison on the team members
page, this is the best picture of classic DIN I have ever seen. Eh, whats
that, what DIN valve? NO, thats Doom Induced Nausea, and this guy has
"I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die" written all over his face.
When are you SOB's going to realize that a simplified, streamlined DIR
rig eliminates Doom Induced Nausea? It really improves your dive, trust
me.

I have seen diver after diver try out the precepts of DIR and toss their
stroke rigs as soon as they try it out. No, it's not the DIR people who
are pig-headed, it's you old-timers who don't have a clue. I sincerely
wish you guys the best of luck as you are going to need it.

And don't give me any more crap about DIR until you try it. If you have
not tried it then I don't care to hear any more of your pompous whining.

   Jim
