Hi Curt Probably just an over sight on the part of Halcyon. These are standard cam buckles, so a diver should be able to thread them correctly right? Shouldn't be an issue. What would concern me more is using the Explorer 65lb wing with it. You're going to be doing a great impression of a Manta Ray <g> Why didn't you order say the 18lb wing if you don't intend using doubles? Best Loz DIR - fewer strokes, less irritation. mailto:lorchard@ru*.co* -----Original Message----- From: Curt Degler [mailto:cdegler@be*.co*] Sent: Thursday, September 16, 1999 6:31 AM To: techdiver@aquanaut.com Subject: Halcyon Harness Rigging My Explorer wings and standard Halcyon harness arrived with the single tank adapter (I know it is NOT RIGHT to use an Explorer with anything but doubles but...it works in water too cold for me to want the time OR depth afforded by more backgas) and I noticed something strange about the way the tank straps were threaded through the cam buckles. Basically they didn't work as delivered - the cams didn't tighten and the tank would not hold. I compared the looping with the cam on my Rec BC and discovered that although the cams were basically the same in design, the Halcyon routing was very different. And it didn't work. So I rethreaded the cam and everything is fine. But I have to ask - Did I DIW by rethreading the cam the rec way? Am I an accident waiting to happen? Or was something amiss with the way the cams were threaded as delivered? Curt Degler (new guy, old diver) -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
