George: << 2. Avoid exercise/exercion immediately following dive. << NOT TRUE - I DO WHATEVER I WANT. I RAN 13 MILES BEFORE I DOVE THIS SATURDAY <<4. Treat first half hour after dive as a decompression stop. << YES Please elaborate. You say it doesn't matter what you do after a dive, and than you say you treat first half hour as deco stop. Do you mean that after the first half hour (the most critical) that it doesn't matter? << 6. Add conservatism into dive profile. << NO, DO THE DIVE AND DECO CORRECTLY - MORE DECO IS BULLSHIT AND CAUSES MORE PROBLEMS THAT IT SOLVES << 9. Always do 15/3 safety stop whether needed or not. NO, USE A SLOW ASCENT FROM 20 TO 0 AS IN 1 FT PER MINUTE FOR A LONG DIVE. Okay, you've lost me here. All dives regardless of tables are deco dives. When you ascend at 0-20ft per minute you are actually adding conservatism into your profile which you earlier said is bs. Regardless of how you slice and dice it, this slower asent is is "more deco" albeit on the fly. << 7. Take aspirin daily on high dive activity. << NO WAY - THIS IS CRAZY What about popping anti-oxidants more than any sane medical physician would ever recommend? I hear this reckless practice is widely condonned by the WKPP. Thanks for taking a minute to share your insights, Tod -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
