So, should one assume that DIR practices are exclusively directed to cave divers under conditions and at depths similar to those encountered by the WKPP, and not to divers in general? Until now, I was more of the opinion that DIR was a philosophy emphasizing the confluence of the best gear configuration with the best equipment and divers in the best possible health (which would be applicable to any type of diving) and less of the opinion that DIR is a set of rules applicable to a limited set of dive conditions. BTW, Mr. Irvine, I have nothing to teach, no fully formed opinion on DIR, and my questions aren't rhetorical. Nonetheless, if forced to give an opinion on the didactic style you use in explaining DIR, I'd have to say that it doesn't reach the excellence of your diving track record.
