Many people agree with you there Travis, but expect a lot of flames from the
simple folk on this list, they find it very hard to explain anything with
out the use of childish name calling - they see their "leader" doing it and
they just have to copy him - which is a great pity, as the message could be
spread a lot better, then again *monkey see, monkey do*

    Cheers

>I've been reading the recent strings of posts and must say that I am
disappointed and disgusted. And I'm sure I'm not the only one. The posts
are
simply profane and not of any use. I joined this list to get a resource on
technical diving, not on how to be a potty-mouthed 7-year old. If I had
wanted
that, I would be a lot more eager to spend time with my younger cousins.
How can't you guys see that as soon as one of you started something
derogitory
that quickly turned into "I know you are, but what am I"? Here's a simple
rule
of thumb, if you're about to send an email to the list, read it over. If it
is
only two or three lines long and contains profanity and no content, change
the
address to that of whomever you're talking about and leave the list out of
it.
I don't need to know that you think that so-and-so is a so-and-so. It has
nothing to do with diving. You disagree with what somebody says and want to
post to the list, reply with your differing opinion to what they said, not a
personal attack. Personal attacks obviously have not been effective (these
threads just go on and on) and they just clog up everybody else's email
account
with garbage.
I also have no interest in anybody else on the list's genitals and whom he
would

like to have suck them. If I wanted that I would have subscribed to a
radically

different list.
Just to conclude, there's nothing wrong with disagreement if it leads to
discussion. From thoughtful discussion understanding and learning can grow.
But the garden of knowledge doesn't need anymore of the fertilizer that been
slung around here lately.
