well, smart money is real careful about cleaning, repacking, checking
seals and everything else on a real regular basis, right? Rebreathers
requre a level of "tender loving care" that is very far removed from
general behavior of many of our recreational diver brothers and sisters.
I guess, to put it mildly, you can control cost through choice of
hydroxide compounds. At least for me, the most significant cost will
be in terms of time to keep breaking it down and checking.
After all, isn't the most common indicator of a problem in a rebreather
that the one using it takes a nap?
