Folks, Allow me, please, to firstly say that I am _not_ a DIR diver and secondly that I do _not_ consider that I have been on this list for time long enough to be considered a veteran. Equally I have been known, even to this day, to have dived on air to depths that the WKPP would definitely consider, uhhh, farmyard animal stupid springs to mind. The flame suit is herewith ON. Yet, periodically, I have come across posts such as some recently criticising George's style of, yes, somewhat colourful invective when he, in turn, criticises what he considers to be fundamentally flawed methods of technique. However I _have_ been here long enough to understand his, and those of the other members of the WKPP who are vocal here, entirely obvious, continuing and extreme (to put it mildly) frustration, I repeat FRUSTRATION and that is the name of the game, with the other "tech" agencies who, increasingly it would seem, bury their heads in the sand. Has, say, IANTD positively responded to even ONE suggestion of the WKPP? I will be delighted to be corrected if they have! I believe that this is the principal reason why George et al are so "froth at the mouth" vocal on this list and, it would seem, they have (at least) some right to be so. If only because they never got anywhere using less aggressive tactics ... whether these more aggressive tactics will work remains to be seen. To date they have not and its been some time now. This may actually have more to do with the "head in the sand" attitude than aggressiveness, but who knows. Whilst I have never met George and, living in Oz it is sadly unlikely that I will, I have met others who have and they _ALL_ have said that he is a charming man which in fact is consistent with the way he conducts himself when on TV, which I have seen. So, for those detractors of his style on this forum you should bear in mind that on paper (as it were) it might seem that a person can be either a rogue or a gentleman/lady (that last is politically correct alpha order). But how do you know? Because you, all of you, quite simply CANNOT! Nor can I. They do say: "Don't judge a book by its cover". At the very least George wears his heart on his sleeve. Now, how many others of us can say this? Christian -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'. Send subscribe/unsubscribe requests to `techdiver-request@aquanaut.com'.
