Phi- I didn't even have to spend $5 on a shovel - I got one free with my TDI card. Here on the East Coast we have many 100+ year old wrecks that are broken up. On your first dives you would swear they were all carrying seashells and sand when they sank. A scooter is the only thing short of a sand dredge that lets you get to where the goodies are.
