Adri-
I have not personally trained with Hal Watts, but I do dive quite often at
his Forty Fathom Grotto and have trained with people he has trained. I have
had the chance to observe the training there.

The training is done in a deep fresh water grotto with significant in water
and topside support. He teaches you to keep your mind busy and focused and
stresses communication and teamwork. In his manual he says that he only
trains you to dive deep on air at his grotto, and doesn't recommend your
doing it on your own in the ocean. I am not an advocate of deep air diving,
but if I ever feel the need to do it he is the only one I would go to. Next
time you are on this side of the pond stop at the grotto in Ocala, FL. and
do a dive there (they can do any gas, rebreathers, etc). If nothing else,
you will be entertained and get a different point of view. I think his
website is www.mrscuba.com.

I wish Mr. Andrews a safe run at the record. I personally think it's not
wise, but he is going to do it no matter what we think and I hope it comes
out ok.
