Todd, this is important information - see if you can get it for everyone. I lost my info on this years ago. I think Richie Pyle refound it, however, but anything you can get would be appreciated by all. What I had was a British video tape showing the effect . It was a commercial diving training video for North Sea oil operations, I think, and it was somebody trying to get me to stop diving air ( 12 years ago ). toddl@in*.co* wrote: > > did you ever get solid info on the RBC "rigidity" effect you > mentioned some time back in a couple of forums? i met an > anesthesiologist on a recent liveaboard trip, asked if he'd > ever heard of anything like that, and he said "sure" and > described how nitrogen would form weak ionic bonds on the > convex side of the RBCs, impairing flexibility. i don't > know enough about it to have a sense of whether this is > right, but his description seemed plausible and he seemed > fairly confident about it. he said he thought he could find > references for me. i'll probably see him this weekend. if > you still need/want info i'll try to push him a bit harder. > > - todd -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
