Steve M. asked: > You seem to know more than this. What are the "Standard cell" & "SuperWings" > you are referring to ? It contains shoulder straps (where D-rings are attached at fixed location) and a waist strap. It is similar to the design of the Zeagle exept that the shoulder strap reach the back of the harness instead of attaching the waist strap in front. Dive-Rite claims that the weight of the tank is suported much better this way. You can install three different air cells (the inflating bags) on the harness: 1. The Travelpac air cell is good for warm-water diving using standard size single cylinder. It has 30 pounds of lift. 2. The standard cell has a lifting capacity of 45 pounds. Its shape is similar to the Wings. It is able to support high-capacity single cylinder and lightweight doubles. 3. The Super Wings is designed for doubles users. There are two seperate bladders and inflaters. Each of the bags has a capacity of 85 pounds. Special elasticized gussets compress the Super Wings to their smallest possible cross section when not inflated. Contrary to the OMS BC, the elastic bands are not covering the BC, but they are squeezing the outer shell (made of heavy-duty Cordura) on the inner shell (the inner shell contains the two inflatable bags). One inflater comes on each shoulder. As well, there is one quick-dump and overpressure valve on each side of the BC Another thing to note is that the harness has eight 1.5 inch SS D-rings (four on each side) and three 1 inch D-ring on each side of the back (no-plate). These small D-rings would allow to attach accessories like the power-pack of the dive light. The transpac is entirely soft. There is no back plate. As I said earlier, the standard cell and the Super Wings are installable on the Dive-Rite common back-plate. I heard that prototypes are presently in circulation. A production version of the BC should be available at the beginning of next year (february?) I did not try the BC, I simply received documentation. I should have the prototype in my hands soon. I do not remember what the cost will be, but I noted that it was higher than the cost of the Wings system (this is not the same product as well). Michel MTHERRIEN@sh*.mo*.mm*.sh*.co*
