EE Pro14 is better than AUL Spec14 in several respects...

- superior materials -- both cannister and light head
- better placement of the nut that fixes light focus
- belt loop comes the right size
- cord comes a reasonable length and can be ordered to spec
- battery doesn't move in cannister
- superior battery connection
- effective strain relief on cord
- charge it and go diving -- it's right already

AUL isn't "bad", it's just not the best. EE is the best. There
really isn't any debating that. You just have to ask yourself how
willing you are to compromise these points for money. Now, before
you buy, is the perfect moment to make this decision -- replacing
your gear after the fact can be a somewhat tougher call, in spite
of the simple fact that you need what you need to do the dives you
choose to do, regardless of what it costs.

I have no idea what it costs to build these things, but suspect
that both materials and labor are more to build the Pro14. But
who cares, why they charge what they charge is the manufacturers'
concern. All that matters to us consumers is what it's "worth".
How much is a reliable primary light worth? Well, when yours
isn't at the worst possible moment, it's worth plenty.

p.s. FWIW, I own a Spec14 and a Pro6. A Pro14 is on my list
     for later this year.
