Well....you seem awful quiet about your buddy Rob Wolov. Is that > because he was one of the "anointed ones" and therefore could not have > possibly been at fault for his accident??? Alan, your anger toward George Irvine has clouded your reasoning. What more do you believe needs to be said about Rob Wolov's death? The preliminary info presented here certainly seems to suggest he made a terrible error in judgement getting in the water without enough gas and perhaps without a clear head (the report made it sound like he was rushing and not making his decisions carefully). The lessons we can take away from this are clear, and need little elaboration. Nobody has said that getting in the water without enough gas is a good idea, and nobody has said that getting in the water without thinking clearly is a good idea, so there is no need for contention on these points. The dive fatalities George and others "jump on" are an entirely different story. The lessons to take away from them are apparently *not* clear to all, as agencies and manufacturers continue to promote the gear/behavior that directly lead to these fatalities. To anyone with a healthy respect for others' lives, that willful ignorance necessitates contention. If you don't like George's approach to this, fine. Tell him privately and get on with your life. It's really shortsighted to ignore or obscure his message because you don't like the delivery, however. You've really got to keep your priorities straight. - Todd -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
