>I have just been told by the Australian distributor for Uwatec that Uwatec >will >release a nitrox version of the Air X at DEMA 95 and will be ready to ship by >01 Feb 95. Interesting. I asked the same question of the Uwatec rep at the BS-AC Diving Officer's Conference last weekend. He said (in verp plain language) that they'd spent a fortune developing the air version, and they'd be wanting to recoup some of that money before going for a Nitrox version. Besides which, he claimed 'there aren't enough nitrox divers to justify it'. Evidently he wasn't listening to any of the presentations, where most of the assembled masses were screaming 'legalise Nitrox' to the BSAC elders. I tried to explain the fact that the Bridge and Nemesis are available, (although pretty rare) in the UK, but he wasn't interested. Hope your man knows more than ours did. On a similar topic, does anybody out there regularly bend their (Air) computer while diving Nitrox/Trimix? I was wondering about the feasibility of using some sort of tube to fill with water, stick my Aladin in when i surface and leave it in there to decompress while i ride home on the boat.
