And without people trying new ideas and living with the adverse comments
from the status-quo NASA would still be using Mercury rockets because they
were simple, clean and functional.

Not that I approve of consoles, but this is obviously a dumb statement.

There is always a place for well informed, well thought out innovation. And
if DIR does not ever take on board innovation then eventually it will become
irrelevent.
