I recently E M'd Pekka re the Locators for those interested there is a 
relatively cheap system available in Australia called the Sonic Seeker 
consisting of one transmitter and one receiver that gives distance, direction, 
signal strength with three LED's. A range of approximately 450 ft I've been 
using it for about 2 years if anyone is interested I will put the contacts 
details up on the board price was about $250 AUD or  approx $190 USD (I think) 
plus post etc.

Mine works well !
