>DIR calls for using the minimum equipment necessary to do the dive.  But
what if the >minimum required equipment includes a compass?  Would carrying
a small console with a >compass and pressure gauge be considered "DIR" for
this dive?  Or would the proper >configuration call for wearing the compass
on the wrist?  Dangling from a 3' lanyard, >maybe?


Compass goes in your pocket.  Take it out when you need it, put it back when
you're done.
Anyway, you can't read a compass properly when it's on your wrist.
