Trying to incorporate this rather silly analogy to the DIR philosophy,
a 4x4 works perfectly well on roads, and I suspect that the probability
of failure of a good pair of hiking boots in the office environment is
pretty low.  This is what DIR is about.  Something that works,
regardless of where you are.  I would not use a single aluminum 80 in
an overhead environment at 80 meters in zero visibility.  Using twin
104's with an isolation manifold on a reef dive in perfect vis in 25
feet of water, although overkill, is not IMO a safety concern.
