I don't understand how on the one hand you suggest the totality of the sytem
taken as a whole  ( ie; the essence of the system being reliance on your buddy
) and then preach self reliance on the other hand.

It just seems to me that I would like to have redundancy in addition to a
qualified buddy.  I'm sure the flames will follow, but I just differ in my
opinions than you HOG divers.

Note, I am not suggesting to dive with every piece of gear in the dive shop,
but I have reviewed the DIR system and have determined for the type of diving
that I do the DIR approach is to minimalistic for my risk/reward ratio.
