Hi Charles,

Welcome to the list. You are in one of the right places - finally !

You are about to be burned at the stake for sins against man and nature by
some of the more enthusiastic and passionate on this list, but do not let it
discourage you. Grin and bare it and you will prosper. Like writers, tech
divers have to suffer some minimum amount before they are considered "tech
divers" among tech divers. This is a good place to log some of that
suffering.

Independent singles is a big no no, and we don't run any breathing gas
supply over the left shoulder.

To many on the list, TDI is a dirty word and the fact that you are looking
for a regulator to run over the left shoulder after going through some TDI
training provides just one more in a long series of justifications for that
attitude. Someone who has it close at hand will provide you with the web
site address for the WKPP configurations - please go to it and study it,
making sure you concentrate of the "reasons" for these set-ups.

Keep in mind that the technical info available here is good and valuable
but the best thing you can get from this list is an improved approach to
diving in general.

A number of excellent divers here will disagree on specifics because what
they perceive to be a threat varies with what they consider to be their own
strengths and weaknesses. In the process of hashing it out we usually learn
a lot about how to evaluate such things for ourselves even though we may not
come to a consensus on what is the right or wrong way to do it.

So! What I like to think of this list as being all about, more than
anything else, is learning how to think about and approach the discipline of
diving. It gets bogged down in pettiness from time to time but that only
adds entertainment value.

Again, welcome to the list,

Chuck Boone
