>If you like to use a $900,- bottomtimer that's fine. I choose not to. I don't qualify as an expert but here is why (the economic reason) I have an order in for the Nitrox version ($690). I am rebuilding my equipment essentially from scratch after several years away from diving (work sucks don't it!!!) Was going to buy the software anyway Needed a computer for the "vacation" dives and other assorted rec dives I do. Math says that 690-250(software cost on sale) = 440. Good bottom timer is about $200-300 Figured I couldn't get a better computer with PC interface for that money, and at worst I've spent an extra $200 for a bottom timer, so I splurged. Will most likely always dive with PC generated tables on any extreme diving I do with the computer as a backup/check. If it works as advertised I get a good deal. If not I've wasted $200, but I didn't buy any bondage wings and I'm making my own back plate (thanks list!!) so I make out even in the end, I hope. Time will tell if I made the correct decision. Or I'm sure someone will point out a flaw in my logic and make me cry tomorrow :) -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
