One additional reason to prefer the table/timer combination is
that none of the available computers will give you credit for
continuing to breathe O2 on the surface to off-gas during the
surface interval between dives.  The conventional decompression
models all allow, and give you credit for, doing this.  On days
when the plan is to dive two or more dives in one day, I
routinely breathe O2 immediately after each dive and plug that
into my tables.  This allows me to stay longer and do less deco
on the second and subsequent dives than everyone else in the
group.

You can't do that with a computer.
