Chris, You are right, I do not know anything about your Explorer computer. I was refering those three dive computers in general. I like your software and I think you are doing a great job there. One could assume the Explorer puts out very good profiles, comparable with the PC software and I trust you it will. Still I would never buy one. Some considerations about divecomputers: What is the advantage of the $900,- Explorer (or any other dive computer) over the table/bottomtimer combination during a deco dive? What if I am following a deco schedule by the Explorer computer and it shuts off, breaks down, whatever... Most computers penalise you for making deep stops. Most Computers do not take workload into consideration. When you use a dive computer you use it as a backup to the tables anyway. Does not improve your deco. Using tables makes you train your deco schedules more. You will start to create a feeling for how much deco is needed for a certain dive. Following a computer does not do this. These are some of the reasons why I like the solid combination of a table with a bottomtimer. I had a private discussion with somebody that liked the downloadable features of his computer. This I can understand, if you like to examine the details after the dive than that's the way to do it. My argument is that you should not dive the computers profile as your main deco profile. If you like to use a $900,- bottomtimer that's fine. I choose not to. Since you have not dove on an Abyss-Explorer, nor used one, nor even run our simulator, please tell me how it is you know the Abyss-Explorer will not "give the profile as I would like to dive it". What kind of a profile is it that you want to dive? And how is it that your so sure the Abyss-Explorer can't deliver that to you?? --------------------------------- Christopher M.
