Subject: RE: Halcyon experience in Australia?
This (DIR for open water) has already been covered. Same as DIR but:
Aluminum backplate, aluminum tank, smaller wing (18-45 lb). Backup
buoyancy is either drysuit, or when using a wetsuit is in the form of a
jettisonable weight belt. Tank valve and reg. are both DIN. Long hose
for open water is only five feet long. All hoses on same 1st stage or
can use 2 regs with an H valve. Same style light, but for rec. diving
you only need a 6 A-h pack.

This IMO is not rushing it at all, but is the sign of a diver who takes
the time to learn the best method available before accepting the word
of the instructor. Real smart - and as such will probably be a prime
candidate for technical training in the future. It's good to see the
destrokifying happening so early.
