I do not understand this , it does not make since , to attache his hose to the bag as soon as he added air they both will start to go up , one small mistake and another bad day. Again too risky. >May be safe but a lot of preparation. It does not sound safe to me. I asked another female employee and she >said she blows hers up manually no pun intended. This would require the removal of the second stage from the mouth , which will cause an initial lose of gas , if you are sending up a bag in a life depending act because of low gas then you are fucked , if you are sending up a bag as part of your dive plan , then sooner or later your fucked . To send up a bag with hanging reels , loose line to get tangled in a wreck or yourself your fucked.A lift bag should be used only when needed , some wreckers carry 2-3 , one is always saved as a back up if needed to save your ass , the others are for artifacts. A lift bag should not be part of your dive plan.It should be practiced , one should be able to deploy it in under a min. , even while having great mental stress .I like to use the open bottom bags , I can fill it without removing my second stage from my mouth and no lost gas, I only need to tilt my head and open the bag just over my exhaust port and the used gas will fill the bag , this causes no stress or lost gas.Lift bags can save you or kill you , its just that simple.
