Ray, When I shoot a lift bag, I attach my saftey spool and fill the bag with an appropriate volume of gas for the depth. The spool spins around my finger with my thumb providing friction until it reaches the surface. If I drop it accidently it is not a big deal. The spool can not jamb causing any CF.
