I just bought a Halcyon lift bag which is a totally closed bag and is inflated through a rubber nozzle and one way check valve. I asked the sales person at Brownies how he deploys the bag. He said, I clip the bag to my reel and pay out 30 feet of line then I drop the reel the bag is now in my hand and reel is 30' below then I disconnect my inflator hose and attache to connection on rubber nozzle which fills bag as needed and reel comes up to my hand and I can decompress at my first stop. May be safe but a lot of preparation. I asked another female employee and she said she blows hers up manually no pun intended. Some people have 60' of line on there reel and just drop reel at same depth and use an air inflator from a separate hose to fill bag. Some people have simple spools with same amount of line. What are some of the techniques used by the serious ocean wreck divers in regard to a closed lift bag and reel deployment -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
